I was definitely wrong this time...

Hudson is definitely our most aggressive child, so when soccer sign-ups were emailed to me for the spring I thought for sure this would be a great idea for our Little H.

Boy was I wrong!

Hudson is definitely our little fighter. Our "spunky" child. But you would never know it on Saturday mornings.

I have captured some shots that look very misleading. Most Saturdays Hudson is fighting back tears on the field. Asking to come sit with me. And using his jersey as a snot rag. Oh well......guess you live and learn.

On Saturdays, Hudson needs lots of reassurance (and maybe some bribing).

and I'm pretty sure this is what he'd REALLY LOVE to be doing.......instead of playing!

playing with this sweet little girl from his preschool class.

Easter Highlights of 2012

Easter is always a special time for our family. Time together, off of work, and visiting family are just a few things that make this holiday one of my favorites! Here are just a few of our family memories this holiday.

10) Dying our family Easter eggs. We always let the boys decide the egg-dying kit of the year - this year egg critters and Cars themes were chosen. Clayton is our "crafty one" and spent a couple of hours decorating and dying his Easter eggs. Hudson joined in the fun - but only for a few minutes.

9) Adorable outfits for our kiddos. I do love cute, adorable clothes for the boys. Alert our local mall and stores: Boys do need cute clothes too!

8) Enjoying treats from the bunny. We do have the Easter Bunny come to our house and leave goodies for the boys. We try and get one thing special for each of them and then fill their baskets with yummy treats. This year Clayton received a sketch pad with markers/pens/pencils and a "Write Your Own Storybook" - he is our artsy child. Hudson received a Superhero Bible - something he requested and Phonics Workbooks to practice this summer. Graydon received a Dr. Seuss book (he loves Dr. Seuss) and a touch n' feel book, as well as first paints and crayons.

7) Hunting Eggs. What fun is dying eggs if you can't hunt them. This year we hunted eggs at home, Pops' in Alabama, and Grandma and Poppy's here. The boys had a blast!

6) Visiting family near and far. This year Easter falls during our school's Spring Break. We were able to visit Pops for a few days in Alabama. Upon returning we spent Easter lunch with Grandma & Poppy, Granny, and Lula. We the spent Easter afternoon with Grammy and Randy. Our boys are very loved and very spoiled! Aunt Shannie, Uncle Mark, and Cousin Adalyn were definitely missed in all of this excitement - however, they will be here in 6 days! With Aunt Shannie's announcement of TWINS and seeing them again - we will have tons more to celebrate!

5) Yummy goodies. Every Easter we get to enjoy yummy food - ham, potato salad, casseroles, potatoes - you name it! - our family has it! Grandma even made an Easter Bunny cake this year for the boys to enjoy!

4) Time together. We loved to spend quiet days together. After celebrating and visiting - we were able to come home and have since spent much time enjoying each other.

3) Our year family picture. - We try and get one good family picture each Easter - everyone is dressed up and looking our best! The bigger our family gets, the harder this "great" picture is to capture.

2) Easter Morning Service. Each Easter morning we begin with our Easter church service. This year Hudson joined us in the Easter service and did surprisingly well! I think Hudson is officially ready for "big" church!

1) Celebrating Jesus. And why do we do all of this celebrating??? What are we celebrating??? Jesus! Each Easter we get together with family and friends celebrating Jesus - our Risen Savior! To hear Hudson say, "Mom, on Easter, Jesus was raised from the dead!" Yes - that's what this is ALL about!

Practice Makes Perfect! - Getting Ready for the Big Hunt!

Easter is just around the corner and we have dyed our family Easter eggs (that will be another blog!) and we are now ready to practice hunting! Clayton is our egg-dying and egg-hunting expert. Hudson was just a little guy last year, and definitely needs a refresher course in this whole hunting thing! And this is Graydon's first year hunting at all, so all of this is very new to him.

Last night after dinner we thought we would get some practice in!

Clayton was super excited as he headed straight for the eggs!

Hudson did a great job and he quickly remembered what this whole thing was about!

Graydon, on the other hand, was very unsure - dragging his basket behind him.

Standing at the shrubs - "Ahhh egg!" - pointing at Clayton's creature eggs complete with hats and fuzzy hair!

He did manage to swipe some eggs and add them to his basket!

Clayton definitely has this "Big Brother" thing down.... - towards the end, he even wanted to hide the eggs for his little brothers to hunt. I do love his sweet heart!

Definitely a successful practice run!
